ISABELLA ROSSELLINI'S Some of Me is a candid, open look by the model, actress, journalist and single mother. Not only is it invaluable for her fans, the anecdotal way in which Rossellini lets us glance in the family album endears her to every reader. There are behind-the-scenes stories that go with the better-known moments of her career as an actress and Lancôme model, not to mention personal moments such as those with her late parents, Roberto Rossellini and Ingrid Bergmanwho she still communicates with during difficult timesand her recollections of her treatment for scoliosis. This is an autobiography that shows Rossellini's vulnerability at times; throughout, however, it just charms you. A ten out of ten to the author for giving us her words from the heart.

ROSSELLINI'S editorial talents are not confined to autobiographical works. Last year's 10 Years of Dolce & Gabbana focuses on the work of the two designers, illustrating the decade thanks to ample photography throughout this book. Think of it as a "best of" title, showing the pair's best work, with input from Madonna, Cindy Crawford and Rossellini herself. Not quite as deep or thoughtful as Rossellini's candid look at her life but for fans of D&G, an essential for the coffee-table.

IN TERMS of glitz and glamour, you can't really go further than Rock and Royalty by the late Gianni Versace and others. The title more than hints at Versace's creations for the late Princess of Wales, as well as the garments which have adorned rock stars such as Madonna. Used to some effect is the presence of photographs of other royals in history with no connection to the author. Although this tends to confuse there is no question of the impact in this 272 pp. book, with works by Snowdon and Richard Avedon. Royalties from this title go to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
